Regular dental examinations are critical to maintaining good oral health. They allow Dr. Agharazii to detect any possible oral health concerns early in order to treat them the most efficient and effective way possible. Before/during your dental exam, ensure to inform us of:
Any new medical conditions since your last visit, including any new medications you are taking.
As well as a complete medical history, Dr. Agharazii and our team may take dental x-rays and do a complete examination of your mouth and jaw area. These are some of the things Dr. Agharazii is looking for in a dental examination:
Early identification of oral health issues will allow for an efficient and effective treatment at a lower cost.

Nightguards are custom-made appliances for patients who involuntarily grind and / or clench their teeth at night (bruxism). This causes wear and tear to the teeth, increases sensitivity, headaches and jaw (temporomandibular) pain. Dr. Agharazii can notice signs of bruxism during dental examinations and will suggest a nightguard if she sees it fit. Be sure to mention any symptoms like those mentioned above during your dental visits.
To repair cavities, Dr. Agharazii can first “freeze” the area around the decayed tooth with local anesthesia so that the procedure is painless. Thereafter, all carries will be removed and the cavity will be filled.
In most cases, you will have the choice between a metal filling (amalgam, often called “silver” restoration) or a “natural” color filling (composite resins, glass ionomer materials and dental ceramics). Both offer advantages and disadvantages. Depending on your situation, we will discuss which of the options is best and / or preferable for you.
Dental sensitivity occurs when the inner layer of the tooth (dentine) is exposed. This layer contains nerve endings causing sensitivity in contact of hot, cold or sweet.
The first step in treating sensitivity is to make an appointment with Dr. Agharazii to discuss your symptoms and determine the cause. Treatments vary and can be as simple as applaying a varnish. In any case, Dr. Agharazii will work with you to relieve your pain and to prevent any future tooth sensitivity.
